Introduction: Who I wrote this book for

I know it seems rather obvious that this book is meant for the typical teenage cheerleader, but I want to take this opportunity to mention a few other groups of people whom I believe will benefit from the information:

Parents: To be honest, without the support of cheer moms and cheer dads, this sport wouldn’t be where it’s at today. So if you’re a parent reading this, I hope you get some good ideas that will help make post-training meal prep a bit easier.

I also hope that this book takes the trouble out of explaining the importance of good nutrition to your daughter. Instead of forcing them to eat yet another pile of steamed broccoli, just throw this bright yellow coloured book at them, and let my words take care of the rest.

Coaches: I know your hands are already full with choreographing routines, placing athletes on appropriate teams, planning out competitions, managing a budget, addressing needs of parents, motivating everyone on “off days,” and last but not least, playing multiple roles of friend, brother, sister, or even mother/father in the lives of many athletes.

Because of this, I figured I should help take one major burden off your shoulders by making sure you don’t have to worry about your athletes suffering from cramps, bloating or puking due to eating the wrong foods at the wrong times. Plus, because their bodies will be fuelled properly, they won’t complain or gas out when you say “one more full out,” but really meant three more. Or maybe I should say, they’ll complain less.
